ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Anusayabai Ramchandra Burla Mahila
Varishtha Mahavidyalaya was established
in August, 1990. Currently, it is
affiliated to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi
Holakar Solapur University, Solapur,
Maharashtra. It caters to the academic
needs of Telugu Linguistic Minority
students. It also strives to do away
with the linguistic, economic and
cultural discrimination among the weaker
sections of the society.
Seth Ramchandra Ramayya Burla was a
successful textile businessman and
philanthropist who migrated from
Telangana and settled in Solapur.
Realising the significance of higher
education among all the girls especially
those coming from the deprived sections
of the society, this noble soul donated
toward the establishment of the college
in the name of his beloved wife Kai.
Anusayabai Ramchandra Burla. Promoting
education with the objective of
providing opportunities in higher
education to the girls from the Eastern
part of Solapur city, the institution
started the college in 1990.
A .R. Burla Mahila Mahavidyala was
accredited for the first time in 2004 by
the National Assessment and
Accreditation Council with B++ grade for
a period of five years with CGPA of
2.79. In the second Cycle of NAAC
accreditation, the college was
accredited with B Grade with CGPA of
2.62 in the year 2012. In the third
cycle, the college was accredited with
B++ grade with CGPA of 2.76. The college
was awarded with Excellent grade by the
University Academic and Administrative
audit.
Recognized by the University Grants
Commission with 2(f) and 12(b), the
college offers diverse programmes in the
conventional, non-conventional and
professional modes. Apart from this the
college imparts skill and career
oriented education thorough short term
and certificate courses. A large number
of students are benefited by support
services and inter - disciplinary
activities provided by the college. The
college also offers access to distance
mode of learning through Yeshwantrao
Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The
college has sound infrastructure, highly
qualified and experienced teaching
staff, support services and all other
facilities to provide quality education
